Last year, when we drove one of our daughters to the camp where she was working as a camp director, we had the opportunity to visit Blue Mountain in Collingwood, Ontario. It was one of those spontaneous “since we’re already here, why not?” moments.
Blue Mountain is about a two-hour drive from where we live. From the camp where we dropped off our daughter, it was only another 30 minutes. At the heart of the area is Blue Mountain Village, the lively hub that draws visitors year-round.

It was summer when we visited. The sky was clear and brilliantly blue, with clouds drifting lazily like cotton across the wind.
The village itself is quaint and inviting. Shops and attractions line the pedestrian streets, bright and colorful under the warm summer sun.
There is so much to see and enjoy in the village that time seems to pass quickly. Before we know it, it’s lunchtime, and my family is both tired and hungry.
With so many restaurants to choose from, we eventually decided on a uniquely named pizza restaurant — Firehall Pizza Co.

It’s a vibrant and busy place, with a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. We were welcomed at reception and seated immediately.
Firehall Pizza Co. does not accept reservations—it operates on a walk-in basis—so it’s best to arrive early or plan to come a little later, after the main dining rush.
Our server was a very friendly and amiable fellow. He brought us our menus, and while we were looking them over, we managed to exchange a few words in brief conversation. Smiling, he excused himself and said, “I have a few customers to attend to. I’ll be back shortly to take your orders.”
There was so much to choose from on the menu, and the prices were very reasonable. My son ordered a pound of wings, and since we were in a pizza restaurant, we simply had to order pizza. My wife and my sister decided on the Spanakopizza.
The wait wasn’t long at all. Within about five to ten minutes, our orders arrived at the table.
Apparently, we were hungrier than we realized. The four of us were just about finished with the first pizza when we decided to order a second one.
By this time, Firehall was already full and buzzing with activity. Despite how busy it had become, our second order still arrived promptly—and, as always, with a smile.
Good things have to come to an end and it's time for us to go on our way home. It is a 2-hour drive.
Our visit to Firehall Pizza Co. was a pleasant surprise and a highlight of our afternoon at Blue Mountain Village. With its lively atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious pizza, it’s easy to see why the restaurant is so popular. Even during the busy lunch rush, the staff kept things moving efficiently and with genuine warmth. For anyone visiting Blue Mountain and looking for a casual, family-friendly place to enjoy great pizza, Firehall Pizza Co. is an easy recommendation.
