My family has lived in the same area for almost 13 years. And the residents of this area are mostly Polish, Italian, and Ukranian. And because of this demographic, most of the restaurants in this area cater to this population. However, aside from the perogie, the pizza, the burgers, and the cabbage rolls, there are now varied offerings like Japanese dishes (sushi and tempura), Korean (Bibimbap and kimchi fried rice), Hakka Cuisine, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Cuisine (Shawarma) as well. Aside from Kanto (https://titaflips.com/kanto/), a Filipino restaurant along Dundas St West (Junction), which I featured here, there are not too many Filipino restaurants in the area.
Looking for Filipino restaurant options near our area, near meaning 10 kms. from our place, we discovered B’s Sizzling Kitchen.

B’s Sizzling Kitchen is a quaint restaurant. It can accommodate around 25 – 30 people. Upon entering, staff welcomed us with a “Magandang umaga po. Ilan po sila” (Good morning! How many are you?) I was with my family so I said there are five of us. The staff joined two tables to accommodate us. We were given the menus so we can go over their offerings.
They offer a wide variety of Filipino dishes. The have the BBQ Specials, the Kamayan-to-go in a box, and the Kamayan. B’s Sizzling Kitchen’s specialty is the Cebu Lechon so it is but fitting that we order that for today.
There were so many items on the menu that were new to us, or at least a new treatment to the regular fare. Our kids chose the meals in a bowl. It is their take on the Japanese rice-bowl dish. For my wife, she got the traditional dinaing na bangus (fried milkfish). And for myself, I just needed to try the Cebu lechon for breakfast. Everything was delicious!
Needless to say we have gone back to B’s for the nth time and they have maintained the quality of their food. Every time we go there I observe a very steady influx of food delivery riders or just the regular online order customer picking up their order.
Just recently a cousin of ours asked if we can use the clubhouse of the apartment complex we are staying in for a surprise party for their older sister who will be visiting from the Philippines. We said ‘Yes’. On the day of the surprise party, the caterer’s arrived with the food. And it was B’s Sizzling Kitchen. They did not disappoint.
So if you are looking for a place to bring your family for a breakfast, lunch, dinner or looking for a caterer for your party needs, keep B’s Sizzling Kitchen in your list!
