Butcher’s BBQ

It was a slow day and my wife and I were driving around our neighborhood just to occupy our time and to see what we have been missing. We drove through some inner roads we don't usually take. We were surprised to see a meat processing plant in the area which we never knew was there. It was past noon and the factory employees were returning from their lunch break. We followed the line of people to see where they were coming from and on the opposite side of the road is a processed meat retail store made from a steel container, and to its left is a another steel container and painted on its façade The Butcher's BBQ (https://www.butchersbbq.ca/).  My wife and I were hungry so we decided to try it out.

There is nothing fancy about The Butcher's BBQ. A re-purposed steel container painted white. A window to order and get you orders, and to the right of that window is the name of the establishment. In front there are three cafeteria benches. Parking for four vehicles is available beside the benches. The most interesting thing about this establishment is when you get your order, you sit on the cafeteria benches that are set-up in front of the store front. And two meters from the cafeteria benches is main road. So while eating your meal, cars and container trucks from the meat manufacturing plant pass by.

The menu is not complicated. Sausages. Hotdog. Pulled Pork. Fresh cut French fries. And the regular condiments of mayo, mustard, catsup, pickles, relish. And a choice of pop or soft drinks as we typically call it.

It has a menu that is easy to understand and to choose from. I ordered the Brisket sandwich Combo. It has tender slices of beef brisket in Ciabatta buns on top a bed of French fries. The condiments are readily available on the window counter.

What makes a meal memorable? Well, the meal itself and the company you have. I enjoyed my combo meal because of its freshness. It is served hot. My wife and I have very busy schedules and every opportunity to have time together we take and go on our tradition of having $20.00 dates.

We acknowledge that the economy is not as good as it was before and everything is expensive. But we do not let this stop us from going out and trying different kinds of food. We just limit our orders to at most $20.00. Thus, $20.00 dates. The important thing about the $20.00 dates is the time we give ourselves to touch base, and the food is a perk.

If simplicity is your thing, then The Butcher's BBQ is a place you can go and try. I highly recommend going there during summer so you can have your delicious meals at the cafeteria tables and watch the cars pass by.
